So, we have decided on the name Aiden/Aidan but we can't agree on the spelling. OH prefers Aiden and I constantly swing between the two

What spelling do you prefer? (If it helps, the middle names are James William, and the surname is Bradley)

In my opionion Aidan looks more "positive", if you know what I mean? hard to describe, I probably just like it better

I actually totally get what you mean lol! It's why I chose that spelling too

You know, this is one of the few names where it doesn't look misspelled if you go with one over the other. :flower:

Aidan. Aiden looks, I don't know, weird and German for some reason.

I'm calling mine Aidan!!!! If he ever makes an appearance. I went for Aidan cos its irish. I've never really come across aiden but it doesn't matter how it's spelt really.

My son is Aidan, hubby wanted to spell it "aiden" but after much research I found the following:

Aidan has been around since 601 where as Aiden first started in 1951 (wiki search will tell you the same). The name is suppose to be spelt with with an A the E is because of the lazy English language. This was a big thing to hubby so we went with Aidan (everyone spells it wrong lol).

I only did this research as I loved Aidan when hubby first mentioned it and then he spelt it Aiden and it completely changed the name for me... Hubby is very into spelling names how they should be spelt and this worked in my favor :-)
