Alternative to sleeping bags and blankets?

My son is a wriggle monster in bed and doesn't stay under blankets, but likewise I don't think he likes the restriction of a sleeping bag, even though we use a very roomy one. The nights are getting cooler here and I was looking for some alternative ideas. I have considered fleece sleep suits bit I don't like that they're not breathable. We do have an oil rad we can put in the room but am still interested in other ideas if anyone can share?

I used a sleeping bag with feet, that way they can still kick their legs. They don't seem to sell mine anymore but it was something similar to this which I believe is 100% cotton.
