Any opinions on whether it would be safe to go on the rollercoasters at Alton Towers tommorow?
I don't see why not as I'm only early days but everyone keeps telling me not too :(
It's not so much the shaking about that's got me thinking but more the adrenaline rush/stress that might cause the harm :S

Should I?

Absolutely not!! I defo wouldn't. I went in 2011 when i was only a few weeks and although it wasnt as much fun I wouldnt risk it. Go and have a relaxing treatment in the Spa instead - that's what I did.

I wouldn't risk it either, a lot of rollercoasters have a sudden stop at the end that can cause a jolt to you and your tummy.

I wouldn't risk it. If you didn't know you we're pregnant then there is nothing you could do afterwards but you do know and can make the choice not to. Like the idea of a spa instead for a bit of pampering x

I am going second week of July and although my friends don't know I am pregnant I am just gonna fob it off theres plenty to do otherwise :)

I definitely wouldn't. You shouldn't be raising your blood pressure too high, as that along with the stress could risk a misscarriage. It's not worth it at all!

I'm going to Florida in a week (hoping to get my IVF BFP while I'm over there) and just going to get 'no ride' passes. It'll still be an awesome time! :)

No. All the big rides all say not to ride while pregnant. I was supposed to go this weekend and was one of the reasons we told OHs family as they would just not have believed any excuse I came up as I LOVE Alton towers, I was gutted but couldn't risk it.

No way were going to disneyland in August but will be following the parks advice over what you can ride. It's not worth the risk.

water park is ok all the wirly roller coaster stuff nowayl..

if u go to water parkrest tons and stay very hydrated :)...i had a bblast whe i went but yea not other amusment park right now.to crowded you will be miserable on ur feet and hot and u wont be able to have fun on anything cause u cant d anything but water ride

The water park at Alton towers is awesome! I'd go there instead! Wouldn't risk the rollercoasters. Not only the blood pressure and adrenalin but the often have bars on or near your stomach and if the ride stops or jolts the bar would press in. Chances are you would be fine but personally I would feel awful if anything happened.

Lol play it by ear, when I was 7 weeks I went on the rides at Blackpool pleasure beach. It's not like your getting punched in the stomach baby has enough padding at this stage, and a bit of fun never hurt anyone :) Your choice though obviously but I say just use your common sense! I didn't go on the big one though :p

I'm not one for scaremongering but my friend was pretty sure a rollercoaster caused her to miscarry before she knew she was pregnant. You would probably be fine but just in case it might be worth reconsidering :)

Most rides won't let pregnant women on ... I went to the swimming baths and wasn't allowed on a tiny slide its just protecting themselves really n ofcourse us pregnant women I was meant to be going on my birthday in August I'd rather not knowin my baby be safe n go for a meal or something x

A friend on here said something similar that was relevant to my job...
Would you rather regret not going on the rides? Or regret if you misscarried potentially thinking it was the rides that caused it?

No brainer in my eyes!

I'm going on Thursday but not going on anything! They jolt you around so much. I'm disappointed I can't try the smiler though :haha:

I had the chance to go on sunday just gone coz my sister had free tickets but had to turn it down, it just ain't worth the risk!! x

I wouldn't take the risk. :nope:
I went to a funfair when I was about 6 weeks pregnant (I didn't know at this point) & every ride I went on made me feel really sick, I didn't know why until I found out I was expecting a week or so later. :haha:
If I'd have known I was pregnant I wouldn't have gone on any big rides.
