Hi I have applied for a apprenticeship which I have now got an interview for on monday. The job will be working 40 hours a week for £104 pounds. I currently live on my own in a council flat, receive income support, child tax credit, housing benefit and child benefit.

What I need to know is will I be better off not getting an apprenticeship. DO I get any help toward nursery costs etc?

Thanks in advance any help/knowledge appreiciated xx

You should be able to get tax credits at the maximum amount due to your low wages. And 70% of your childcare costs can be claimed for.
Do you have a lone parent advisor? They can go through your entitlements and give you a print out of how much better off you will be depending upon different circumstances.
When you claim tax credits any maintenance you receive is not taken into account so that's a bonus if your child's father pays any.
