Amazing Microwave Tablet Recipe

Wanted to share this as tablet is normally such a pain in the bum to make!

My mum gave me the recipe today and we both tried it and it worked beautifully



16oz golden caster sugar
4oz butter
6oz evaporated milk

Place all ingredients into a large glass bowl.
Microwave on full power for 4 mins then stir.
Microwave again for 4 mins then stir.
Microwave once more for 4 mins then beat until thick.
Pour into a tray and leave to set.

Just in time for Halloween, if anyone makes it let me know how you get on

It's a sugary thing, similar to fudge, but it's harder and sweeter.

Is it the same thing as butter tablet? If so I know what it is but I had no idea you could make it yourself! Oh dear may need to try that one

I think it might be the same as butter tablet although never heard it called that here. Normally to make it you have to stand and stir it the whole time it's cooking which is a pain but this was so easy, give it a go! X

Yeah, I'd say it was Scottish, it's not unknown here but only ever seen or eaten it when I was living there.

Tablet is Scottish, and it is a total pain in the arse to get to set!

I'm a Scot and spend days at christmas swearing at sodding tablet!

Just butter from a block. Mine was salted but couldn't say whether or not unsalted would work xx
