Nearly all the mum's I know who b/f also give their LO at least 1 forumla feed a day, usually last thing at night to help LO sleep. I haven't given my LO formula (although she did have some mixed with my breastmilk when she was in SCBU) and wondered if any of you have done, or are planning on doing so, or will you stick to exclusively b/feeding?

i have exclusivly bf for nearly 6 months and still going x my mum said me and my sister had top ups x

I'm exclusively b/fing. Don't know why anyone would want to give their baby formula as well. My bub sleeps 8hrs straight through the night so it doesn't make them sleep any longer...

I gave regular top ups at first but it cocked my supply up. I try to top up with pumped BM at night if necessary but I have given formula. She doesnt sleep any better for it. :)

I topped up for a while but even one bottle messed my supply up. Not until I stopped giving it that my supply got all well balanced - its more clever than me!

I am exclusively breastfeeding too, despite everyone telling me to give her a formula feed at night. I dont want to risk messing my supply up!

I am still pretty much BFing 100% of the time. I give Bren solids every couple of days, but then it is only 1/2 a rush and a slice of fruit.

I BF 100% and Oliver slept from 9 last night til 6 this morning, with no feeds at all, so I don't think you need formula to help them sleep better!

i am 100% breastfeeding also and will not be giving formula, BM is good enough.

I exclusively breastfed, and Sam slept through from 2 days old so I don't think substituting an evening feed with formula would make any difference in terms of sleeping x

Holy frig, im so jealou of all you mums who have babies who sleep through. Its frustrating when people say they shouldnt sleep through that early, but then half the mums on this board have babies who sleep through.

It was pure luck though! Nothing we did - first night home and he was awake every 2 hours all night. Put him to bed on the second night expecting it to be the same and woke up at 7am, realised it was light and panicked!!

I think I'm in for a shock when #2 arrives! Sam awake all day and a baby who's awake all night! And I LOVE my sleep! x

I havent given any formula and dont plan to until maybe when hes 6 months i might give him a cup of the good night formula milk at bedtime
