i'm sorry but i have yet more questions

**how long prior to getting married did you choose your dress?

**how long before you got married did your dress return (i mean after you picked it before alternations if that makes sense?)

**if the shop suggested to you... how long did they suggest to give it for alternations?

i'm a bit miffed this morning... thought i'd make a few phone calls to start sorting out stuff, spoke to wedding coordinator and arranged meeting, all fab :yipee:

but phone dressed shop... had picked in september, was told it would be back jan 2010, so i thought i'd go for a fitting feb time, but i've just been told it wont be back till end of march/april time! wish they hadn't of lied! not impressed when spending 1k plus with them! :dohh:

Im going by my friends wedding and what I've been told by dress shops

-I was told to start dress shopping 8 months before - and have it picked by 6 months before

-My friends dress took 2 months to get into the shop once she had ordered and she was having fittings up until 3 weeks before

I would ask for some sort of discount as thats quite a difference in when they said, a couple of weeks I would allow but not months! They should of rang you up and said if there was any change

Im not going shopping until late April - Leaving 5 months eeek! x

I choose mine in August and got it in August as it was a sale rail. Luckily it was my size but coz I'm a short arse I need it taken up  So I am going to look for a seamstress in the area this month and get it done. My wedding dress is at MIL's and has been since August!

That is shocking that they haven't bothered to tell you its going to be delayed!

thanks ladies, i'm glad it's not just me who's unimpressed! kim - my OH said about a discount too, i don't want to appear like the mad bride  but i don't want to be fobbed off either, i'm glad it's not just me, i thought i may be over reacting

I would give them a ring and calmly tell them that you were told Jan and that it iiisn't on considering the amount of money you've spent with them that your weren't informed etc...Hopefully they'll offer a discount then.

Your not over-reacting - I would be quite pissed off with them

Hey Hun :flower:

**how long prior to getting married did you choose your dress

I ordered my dress on 14 November and we get married on 10 October.

**how long before you got married did your dress return (i mean after you picked it before alternations if that makes sense?)

I have been told that it will arrive in August as it is being hand made.

**if the shop suggested to you... how long did they suggest to give it for alternations?

Apparently my alterations will take a few weeks and I will have it back by mid September.
