Gave my little one strips of cheesy omelette today and he loved them!! Is that an ok finger food for him? He's been doing purées for a month and a half (simple veg initially) but keen to get finger food introduced. Finger food wise He's also had melon (loved it) toast (loved that!) and brocolli (loved it!) mac and cheese! he seems to prefer feeding himself so any other meal ideas are appreciated! Xxx

From 6 months LO can have anything you eat with a few obvious exceptions like honey, whole/big pieces of nut, salty foods etc. It's also advised to avoid things like undercooked eggs, certain fish like you do in pregnancy, and cut cherry tomatoes and grapes in half because they are small enough to swallow whole but the skin is tough to 'pop'. So whatever you're eating really, just make sure to use baby stock cubes and don't add salt when cooking :)

Agree with the above post. Anything you eat is good for baby to eat as long as its cut up in small pieces and not loaded with salt, sugar and unhealthy fats.

That's a great finger food!

My LO seems to like puff pastry 'pizza'. I just use ready to roll puff pastry and add tomato purée and dried herbs, fry off some red onion and add as a topping along with cheese, cherry tomatoes (he spits the skins out though), mushroom. The possibilities are endless I guess!

I want to try making some mini quiches next.

Funny u say that I actually just bought puff pasty with the intention of trying the same thing! My friend gave me loads of good easy recipes too -- carrot pancakes, mini fish cakes, savoury muffins! Quite fancy having a go at Mini quiche too! He's now pretty much refusing spoon fed mush lol.. Much prefers finger foods, so I'm thinking we may begin the transition to BLW. He tried raspberrys today and banana, and some banan on toast. He loves it so much he cries when there's none left haha xxx

My LO hates being spoon fed now unless it's something smooth like yoghurt. Any hint of a lump and he spits it out and picks it back up to feed himself! The puff pizzas are delicious! Need to make some savoury muffins too. At the moment though, he's teething and not wanting to eat much at all, which is really soul destroying at mealtimes!
