anti bs for mastitus??

Will the doctor prescribe them via a telephone appointment?? I am pretty sure i have it..v sore red patch on boob will not clear, feeling flu like, aching etc. Cant really get to the surgery tomorrow and don't want it to get any worse xx

Not sure... Both times I had it I was able to get an appointment quickly and went in. She wanted to examine me and take temp etc. hope you're feeling better soon in the mean time you can take brufen

When I had it, the breastfeeding consultant got me a doctors appointment and I had to go on antibiotics.


Try to breastfeed as often as possible and place warm flannels on your breasts. Hot baths and showers can also help to relieve the pain, as does gentle massage. Hope you're feeling better soon

Thanku. My breast is as empty as it can be, had hot bath, massaged, expressed, fed lots still just this bruised feeling. Tbh its not bad pain its the feeling flu like thats bothering me. Hoping ita a mild case x
