Well, I'm 17.

I'm in highschool, however I will be in full time college January 2012.

I also just got a job.. part time of course..

I've got over 10 scholarships to apply for and I've got all my senior work I need to cram this December..

The catch is I've got a 7 week old daughter full time!!!

I'm confident I can do it. I know I can. But it's gonna be hard and I may struggle at times and lose sight of my goals.

Hards not impossible right? Something I keep in mind 24/7.

So any advice from someone whose been in something similar????
Any and ALL will be greatly appreciated...
It's hard being a single mommmy.

Not really 100% similar but I graduated uni in July, conceived in July, broke up with FOB in August. I had no job and am a Fine Art Photographer so my work is not so viable, so to be in that situation was quite daunting but as long as you do keep insight the end goals then you will get there. First off I wanted to get a job so applied everywhere in fields I wanted to work in and finally got one P/T and have applied for F/T work and have several interviews lined up. I have also applied for a PGCE course which is a postgraduate teacher training course.

But I can also appreciate how hard uni work is and teaming that with 'grown up' responsibilities will be hard but not impossible. At the end of the day it is admirable that you are continuing your education where so many would have given up and dropped out. You're trying to build a better life for you and your baby and when your daughter is old enough she will think you the strongest person in the world.

You are young enough to be my dd. My son will be 17 in a couple of weeks. So, I will tell you what I would tell my child.
I went through college as a single mom with a baby. I was in my later 20s so it was a little bit easier on me, but still you can do it!
Do you have your mom or dad to help you? If so, stay with them until you graduate college? That would be the best for you and your baby, so you can be a good mom and still concentrate on school.
Next, take all the scholarships you can, and make sure you get a pell grant, student loans, and what ever else they will throw your way. You are a mom, so do not put your parents' info on the fasfa. File as an independent student, even if you are living with them. Also, make sure you get WIC now if you haven't already.
Then do not work and go to college with a baby if you do not have to. The studies can be too much to handle both.
I told my ds to stay with me until he at least has his B.S. and not to work. I want him concentrating on school, plus he wants to get his PhD in Biology. He has a lot of school in front of him!
Just hang in there, bc it will be so worth it in the end! I am very proud of you for making the decision to continue your schooling and ensure that you will have a good future for you and your baby! Best wishes, sweetie!

Thankyou both so much.

That's exactly the kind of responses I was hoping for...

I have another 6-8 years ahead of me I'm holding on tight to the same dreams I had as a child and I refuse to let go... I'm kind of a nerd, I love school. I love learning.

My parents ARE A HUGE SUPPORT. Without them I doubt I'd be able to handle this... I do plan to stay with them through alot of the schooling if not all.. it's a hard economy right now and I'm not going to move out til i'm confident I can't stand on my own 2 feet... cause I have my daughter to think about now too.
I'm very blessed that my parents will let her and I stay with them through that... they say as long as I'm working and in school it's okay..

im sorry i dont have much advice (not in similiar situation with being 17 and school) but i just turned 22 and will soon be a single mom. just wanted to say you can do it! you seem like you have a strong head on your shoulders and a good support system. having a child does not mean our lives are over, if anything they just begin and new doors will open. Goodluck and keep going after those dreams of yours. Nothing is impossible, all your hard work will pay off.

:hugs::hugs:
