Had IUI this morning using DH's frozen sperm sample but the post-thaw count was only 7 million with 27% motility. I knew that having to use a frozen sample would cause a hit to the numbers but it was way below what I thought it would be given the pre-freezing counts. It is still above the minimum for an IUI but not as high as they like to see. The Dr said hopefully having 3 follicles will help even out the odds.

Has anyone out there had or heard of successful IUI with those kinds of numbers?

No, sorry. We've had a fresh count of as low as 400something thousand so it didn't work in 4 tries for us. But DH has morphology and motility problems too so maybe yours isn't as bad. My RE always said IUI is a good choice if you have 5+million so good luck ;)

May I ask why you're using frozen instead of fresh? The freeze thaw process can decrease the sperm by half, so we decided to use a fresh donor rather than frozen.

cottonlily - my husband is deployed with the military so we are using his banked samples while he is deployed. his fresh count is anywhere from 50-100 million so I was not expecting frozen to come back quite so low. Maybe it was just a bad vial.

PCOSMomToOne - thanks so much for letting me know, that gives me some hope :)
