Any little refluxers here on Omeprazole (Prilosec, Losec) or lansoprazole (Prevacid)?

Z has been on Omep since 6 weeks and it's done wonders for taking the pain away but I'm just not sure it's working out for us as a whole any more. It seems to make his insomnia worse (waking every 2 minutes through the night as opposed to every 10-30, no naps, taking hours to get down) He's also just spitting out the Losec granules no matter what we mix it with and the liquid Omep was ineffective.

We see the paed tomorrow and I'm thinking of asking for a switch to lansoprazole. Does anyone have experience with this or with getting the Omep to work out?

Ranitidine not an option. We tried for a long time and it had zero effect

My daughter has suffered with reflux since tiny. We started on gaviscon didnt help then She was on ranitidine for a long time but barely helped but took us until she was 14 months old to get losec pediatrician prescribed lansopazole liquid but it's proved so hard to actually get as it's special order from Gp it's like liquid gold they won't order it basically. She also takes domperidone for sickness and movicol as all the meds seem to cause her constipation which means restless nights, constant wake ups and lots of gas.
It's hard getting daughter to take the losec I now dissolve it in a tiny bit of water and mix with her favourite fruit puree seems to help alot

My 9 month old is on omeprazole. What I do is mix it in 10 ml of warm boiled water in the little cup they gave me until it disperses, draw it up in a 10ml syringe. Agitate it continually not letting the mups settle, get rid of 3 ml (as he's on 7 ml once a day), then put a couple of spoonfuls of apple and pear purée (cow and gate fruit pots currently) into the 10ml cup and add the contents of the syringe and give it a good mix and give it to him by spoon. Some of the mups are left in the syringe and the cup so I add a little more water and get out as many of the mups as I can and get it into him. Then give him the rest of the fruit pot. I put it in a couple of spoonfuls of purée first incase he doesn't want the whole pot then the medicine would be wasted if I'd mixed it in the whole pot.

It's not working though. He's still being sick loads and very grumpy. If it works I hear it's a wonder drug and although a faff to make up its worth persevering as it really does work wonders. Shame it's not for my little guy though.
