We haven't had a pregnancy stick yet, but after multiple goes at Clomid, then Femara, the IUI, then multiple IVF's, DH and I did manage to conceive naturally last cycle. It was a chemical pregnancy, but we never thought even that would be possible on our own! To even get that far our angel had to get past PCOS, me having only one tube, DH having high viscosity semen, low testosterone, me having possible immune issues, and who knows what else! What a trooper!!!
We've worked really hard to overcome a lot of our issues. I was healthy until I was exposed to a supplement that caused me to have a huge flare up of PCOS. I gained 100 lbs in under a year and stopped ovulating entirely after being regular my whole life. It took years of meds and lifestyle changes, but now I ovulate on my own with cycles under 50 days long. I also lost one of my tubes to an ectopic pregnancy after one of my rounds of IVF last year. That was really awful.
DH used to have TERRIBLE motility, count, and morphology due to progesterone exposure- now all he has left is a viscosity issue and low T. His numbers were so bad that we had to do PICSI with IVF, as natural IVF wouldn't even work anymore and the last time we tried it we lost all but one of my eggs. (It worked fine before he had progesterone exposure.)
We've changed the way we eat. We exercise more. We diet as best we can. I've lost 30-40 lbs so far (it fluctuates). DH has lost 10 lbs and is now off all the vitamins he had to take to help him get healthier. We still have a long way to go, but we're going to keep doing our best to get ourselves to a better place. We may never have children, we don't know, but no matter what the outcome will be, we will have know we did everything we could!
