So I lost my job because I had to take some days off with lo being ill, then me catching it then childminder catching it :( .. So although I get help with housing plus child tax/child ben & i just applied for income support while looking for another job. I'm thinking about doing a Access course to nursing will I still get the help money wise?
I don't feel bad claiming because I have worked full time since 16 & now 28 so paid more than enough tax lol :)

Anyone else doing a course? Do you get help x

I went back to school when DD was 11 weeks :( about to do my exams and then if I pass I'll be going to uni in March to do midwifery :) x

Oh and I lose my tax credit and income support :( but I get an nhs bursary and student loan. As far as I'm aware you can get child tax credits and income support while you are at college as long as it's not an apprenticeship, but not at uni :)

I've finished high school and university with lo. I got incomesupport for high school but had to take out a loan for university

I went back to college when my LO was 21 months, and to be honest although it was worth it, i struggled financially with childcare costs (on income support). Fortunately i am able to start my uni course this yr after doing only 1 yr of college and although i will lose income support, student loan and the grants available to single parents more than covers expenses.
I dont know about access courses though, are they college level qualifications?
