Any success stories and/or from 5:2 diet?

So i've been using myfitnesspal since the new year, and have been in the gym 5-6 days a week. So far i've lost 1st 8lbs...whcih i am happy with, but at the same time i feel like for the amountof effort going in should be shifting it a bit quicker. The last few weeks i've stayed the same weight wise so am looking to boost my weightloss. So am considering the 5:2 diet. I'm living in saudi arabia though so have little knowledge of it. Is it a good method? Have you lost a substantial amount following it.
Also i'm curious about the non fast days. The website i was on had a calculator that showed how many calories you'd have on the non fast days and mine was 2600.... i currently have around 1300 so this is double...i'm not sure i could eat that much anymore and if i did i'm pretty sure it wouldnt be heatlhy stuff!!! So can i stick to my 1300 on non fast days then have the 500 cal days?
Or could i balance it all out....i do go out on a weekend so i could have a binge day food wise to recover from my hangovers, then 4 days a week balance my cals out then do the two fast days!!

Sorry for the ramble...i'm thinking as i type! Plus i dont really have any friends out here who are also trying to shift weight...they either aren't bothered or arent ready to start yet!!
 
i have been doing it since january and have lost 7 kg - just over a stone i play netball once a week but no real major exercise i do have 4 kids and a husband and teach 2 days a week

i love it as can still eat with the family a lot of the time and am not counting everyday etc

i do find that i have to fast 3 days to loose weight as i prob eatt too much on the other days but thats ok with me........if i only do 2 i do not gain

fast days i have a cup of tea (skimmed milk) for breakfast one for lunch and for dinner a low cal ready meal of say 260 cals diet drinks water and fruit eat as well

the other days i do not count

not the suggested way of doing it but works for me........can still have a blow out

i also feel great on a fast day--- really clears my head and make s me feel good

lots of water on all days

it is slow though - this was wierd at first but now i am looking thinner i am really pleased cos i do feel denied and have never ever cheated !!!!!!
