Hi everyone,

I read many posts about treatment for low testosetrone / oligospermia and I see more posts for Clomid. HCG shots are not often used.

My husband has high prolactin/low testosterone and at his last visit to the endocrinologist, he gots now HCG injections for his low testosterone.

Any success stories here? I am afraid of side effects and have not found any study about HCG injections effects about male factor infertility.

Any success?

I have not seen much on here about HCG either but if you do a google search you will see alot of success storys, in my opinion the HCG works better then clomid at raising testosterone , my husband was actually taking a low dose for the HCG diet and it happened to also increase his testosterone and sperm count and we got a surprise BFP in october that year it but ended in M/C so were trying again. he has been on the shots again for a month now,his only side effect is increased sex drive.

Hi Lisa,

thank you for the infos!
I read that the hcg could have better effect as clomid but nothing scientific.
Alle the success stories for MFI are mentionning more clomid.

Have you seen some improvements on count/motility?

I could not get my husband to go in for another SA so I have no proof that it worked other then the BFP I got a few months later, now that he is on it again for a month now his volume has doubled.
there are alot of successes with HCG on this forum :

Hi Lisa,

Thank you for the link!
Doubled volume is a good sign.
I noticed that my dh has a lower volume as it was in 2008, as we conceived our little boy.
His SA was not so good (lower limit on everything, 19 Mio/ml, poor motility) in 2007-2008 but with months of supplements we managed to get the SA better than normal and to conceive.
After our bfp, dh abondonned the supplements and in 2011, SA got worse as the one in 2007. I am giving him again some supplements.
Hb does not want to make a SA, so I have no idea whether his sperm is better now.
I would like to get a SA in 3 months...

Do you give your dh somme supplements?
