any tips to stop head butting

My little guy headbutts backwards.
He does it fir fun, to keep awake if I'm trying to get him to sleep orvif frustrated.
He has cp, epilesy and possible autism.
Mostly non verbal.
He is 2.5.
He got me in the nose so hard today it was bleeding and swollen.
Its really getting me down.
Not to mention I need to keep him safe
I try to prevent it but u cant be on guard every single minute
And he is very strong.
Bit off topic but i had mc 6 weeks ago
And am struggling a bit emotionally.
So finding it all that bit harder.

My DD who Is 23 months does this on occasion I'm expecting her to just grow out of it and try to discourage it

He giggles of I try stop him and puts more effort into it.
So I'm not sure how to atop him.
With other things ignoring it and rewarding good behaviour works
But its a hard one to ignore ��
