Hi ladies, I have posted a couple of threads recently regarding my daughter who will not sleep unless on mine & my partners chest. If put down she will only stay asleep for 45 minutes day and night. At night she only last 1 - 1.5 hours when sleeping on us and if put down in the night once asleep it's only for about 30 minutes. She has a dummy. Putting her on her front, side etc does not work nor does swaddling, raising the cot etc. I also feed her every time she wakes up to rule out hunger and it certainly doesn't make her sleep longer. She won't even fall asleep in her pram so going out is a struggle. Is anyone else's baby still like this at 4 months? Surely she should be sleeping longer than 45 minutes when put down and especially longer than 1 hour on us?! I'm just so exhausted and have tried every idea and technique going. She had never slept well and I thought by now it would be slightly better. Thanks x

I'm posting this as my 5 month old is asleep on my lap after being in bed for the night for 45 minutes....

I can count on one hand how many naps we've had over 45 minutes, it is utterly exhausting

Have you tried a wrap/carrier during the day? While she might not sleep longer you'll have your hands free to do stuff, I've done a weeks shopping with DS in the carrier and all the house work before!

At 4 months we had a hell of a time at night, waking every 2 hours for his dummy, I've now ditched his dummy and when I can finally get him down for the night (normally once he's fallen back asleep) then he's down until 6:30-7am so there is hope

My advice would be to just go with it and don't stress over her not sleeping long, she might get there or she may just be a cat napper her whole life

Have you tried white noise? I thought it was nonsense but it really is amazing!! Worth a shot??

Leo is almost 9 months and naps in the carrier. We also bedshare so he sleeps right next to me.
