DS is under a gastro consultant as he has a metabolic disorder. He's also been having bowel issues for a long time, probably 2.5 yrs now. He has cycles of diahorrea, then normal stools, then he gets constipated before getting diahorrea again. We've tried Movicol previously (just gave him constant diahorrea). The new gastro has given him sodium picosulfate and wants us to give him 5mls per day for a month then we'll review the dose. Her plan is to retrain his bowel to function properly. Thing is, I'm not noticing any positive changes as he's had constant diahorrea since he started it nearly 4 weeks ago. Our HV said it can take a few weeks to get the body used to it
Anyone else used/using this with their child? Is it for similar issues or something else? How long have you used it and how long before it made a positive difference?
Thanks
