I was curious if any of you other ladies have switched to non-bleached organic disposable tampons or pads.... or cloth pads... or Diva cup... while TTC????

I have just switched back to cloth padd... when TTC my first daughter I had seven loses and then went on a rampage detoxing my life as much as possible... more organic foods... more natural cleaning products.... natural laundry detergent... NO DRYER SHEETS (Still don't use those scary things)... and of course cloth pads...

Well it may have just been coincidence but I got pregnant 4 cycles later and more importantly the pregnancy didn't end in another loss.... I obviously kept my more organic approach to life with most stuff while pregnant and after my daughter was born...

However due to pregnancy and breastfeeding I didn't have a period till my daughter was nearly a year old... and then I fell back in the bad habit of using normal products for that time of the month... well I didn't go back to tampons bc i had just read too much stuff that creeper me out....but I admit the convenience of disposable pads sucked me in... I mean I was already washing cloth diapers for my daughter and was sick of laundry lol

So I recently have gone back to cloth (4 months ago) and my cycles are starting to improve. My ovulation had been kinda all over the place...but now the last 2 were perfectly placed in my cycle... that hasn't happened at all since I've been testing ovulation...

My PMS symptoms have improved drastically (currently on cycle day 3 I believe) I can't help but wonder if the use of so many toxic chemicals so close to delicate skin is what leads to issues TTC...especially in women who are my age and have used the products so long...

Thoughts?

Hi Jenna

This stuff interests me too. I have been using organic cotton tampons and organic natural disposable pads but have been thinking about cloth and the diva cups when I get my cycle back after this one arrives.
it's interesting what you say about your cycle being all over the place too. My ovulation was so irregular. I've always had irregular cycles so thought nothing about it until TTc when I just thought it was a pain having longer cycles.

Also, as an aside, I have just changed to unbleached, no added chemicals natural toilet paper. I have been getting itching down there for about a couple of years and nothing seems to be causing it....until I read this article about how many chemicals etc are in toilet people and how some people can be allergic to it. I have quite sensitive skin anyway. So about ten days ago i switched toilet paper and guess what, for at least 5 days the itching has gone :-) 9Even omitting sugar/carbs didn't help much).

I also tried to detoxify my life. I have to admit i can be a bit of a sugar carb addict but I try my best to eat organic and home prepared meals. (After my mmc I have been emotional eating so this year hasn't been great). I use natural cleaners, body wash, hair shampoos etc.
I also have never used anything on dd like those horrible baby wipes.

Good luck with your TTC. I hope it helps.

Yes I switched to unbleached toilet paper too... a few months ago finally...

I agree baby wipes and apparently now baby powder.... I've been watching the information about baby powder and it's crazy to think something considered safe and pure like baby powder could be the reason I had problems getting pregnant as an adult... it just makes u scared to use anything!!!

I'm hoping the trend with perfectly timed ovulation continues.... I want to start acupuncture but I think I wanna take a month or two more to prove this little expirment to myself... if I get 5 or 6 months of perfectly timed ovulation then that's proof enough to me... and I'll add acupuncture

Good luck.

I have been drinking only filtered water since my mmc. There were a lot of mcs in my town last year. I had two. My midwife had a theory that it was because of the sprays that are put on weeds around the edge of the lake where we get our water supply from.

Yes baby poweder is a terrible product. It's amazing what they can sell. I'll pm you at some point with a link to a great website I found where the ingredients of products are given a rating out of ten depending on how toxic they are. It'll surprise you.

Please update me on how your experiment goes.

Oh awesome!! I'll definitely look at it and I sure will let u know ♡♡♡
