Anyone else had a scan?

I was just wondering if anyone else had been for a scan to check their 'organs' i think? My doctor doesnt think there is anything wrong with me (having irregular periods) but is sending me for a scan to reassure me.
I just wondered what will a scan show if anything and will they tell me if anythings wrong the same day.

I didn't know you coul dhave "scans" to check things... how long do you have to be trying before you can do that???

Ive had numerous scans got another booked for the 6th of April. I went to the docs about having trouble ttc and he sent me for a reasurrance scan and they found i have a simple cyst on my left ovary (probably from depo) but everything else seems normal i get scanned every 6 weeks now.

At my doctors he said 2 years but i knw a few women on here who have been TTC for a year and had tests done.

Yeah they will only tell you so much though, but i suppose it depends on your scanner ive had some proper stuck up ones who wont say anything and others that will show me the screen and point everything out and give you a detailed report.

My Drs must be different then cause i had my scan done after about 2 months of ttc, i did ask for it though as i had been on depo.

Yes I've had a scan to check out my womb & ovaries. I was told straight away that everything is perfectly fine. No cysts, no issues and she told me my womb was "structurally normal" ....although she was saying that as I was shooting towards the door as I was totally desperate for the toilet (sonographer told me I won "Bladder of the Day")

I've only been TTC for 2 months but have a suspected ovarian cyst so that is why they are scanning to check it out.

Thanks for all the replys. Hopefully nothing will show up but have had a bad feeling for quite sometime that something just doesnt 'feel' right! Im pleased to know that if there is anything wrong they will tell me on the day as i dont fancy waiting a week or to for results from Doctor.
