I have been diagnose with De Quervain's Tendonitis and have been suffering with it for the last 5 weeks - its soooo damn painful!

Just wondered if anyone else has this - apparently its also called "mothers thumb"?? How long did it take you to get better - I'm due to go back to work in 3 months and I rather need both my hands!

Any help / support - I cant take too many meds as I'm a breast milk donor and I'm still feeding my son!

Many thanks in advance

Nickie

accupuncture

i had it for carpel tunnel syndrome in pregnacey my hands were really painful and it made them 100 per cent better

I've had it, and still suffer mildly.
I'm BF as well and my consultant (a BF mother herself ) said that ibuprofen and paracetamol were fine. I also have supports I can wear.

I've also had steroid injections that have completely stopped the pain - again, safe when BF as not contra-indicated. I've had 2 injections - one stopped pain for 2 months, the other more or less permanently. Physio helps too - had ultrasound therapy and self-massage. Works well!
