I'm so fed up of being told everytime I'm in so much pain that its due to my age  I've had two children before but that was a long time ago, they're 18 and 15 now. Surely my body can't be that worn out now and if it is why allow me to become pregnant in the first place. I wanted to enjoy this pregnancy so much and its become a nightmare. I know I shouldn't be complaining and I should be so honored to have a life growing inside me, which I am but its the side effects that are becoming unbearable now. Going to see the doctor this afternoon to find out what is going on and if he can prescribe something for me. I could understand feeling like this if I was in the last month but I've got weeks to go yet. Do you think people have got a point about me being too old? I'm 38, and wondering if anyone else who has had a large gap between babies suffered? xxx

First off, big :hugs:

I don't think it has anything to do with age..

I had my last daughter when I was 37 and I suffered from SPD, joint pain, hemmroids ect.. it was awful.. top off she was a very large baby..

When I got pregnant this time I was scared since all my problems started around 26 weeks last time... well I am now ( almost) 31 weeks and other than being anemic and put on iron suppl. I feel good. and I am now 39.. I also forgot to mention this is my 5th pregnancy... I have three older daughter who are grown.. I remember each pregnancy being different..

I could be where the baby is lying for you.. I know with Emily my placenta was low and on the front ( I also know baby loves to snuggle with BFF placents.. we saw proof via 3D U/S) so I always felt she was going to fall out..
Mr Man here, the placenta is high so he has been high the whole pregnancy.. which is good one way.. since my pelvic / hips don't hurt as bad but the heartburn can be brutal if I choose to eat too much:dohh:

Awww thanks for your reply. I know she turned breech sometime last week as I had a scan and she'd previously been head down for at least six weeks prior to that. Maybe the position she's in is part of the problem. She's not a large baby so thats not the problem at the moment. All I know is placenta is anterior so not sure exactly where although I feel more at the front now so I guess its got higher. Thinking about it, when she was head down it did feel like she was going to fall out all the time too, the pressure has eased off now but its just the random pains that are making me feel so down. Had low down cramping this morning that suddenly spread upwards all over bump in such a gripping vice like pain which didn't wear off for at least ten mins, its just weird. Been having cramps for days now which can turn into stitch like pains that last up to half an hour. Never known anything like it before. Oh well at least she seems ok in there wriggling and kicking :) xxx

I sure know how you feel :hugs: I have good and bad days if that makes any sense.I don't see it as my age cos I don't feel any different as the years have gone by.I'm 38 with my 3rd and there will be a 12 year age gap!I just think you forget about what you go through cos once the baby is born it has all been worth it :) every pregnancy is different too.
I'm feeling yuck just now :( have had the cold for over a week and I'm fed up cos of it.Not bothering the little one though......he/she is having fun in there!! X

Its rubbish isn't it?! I've had a crappy pregnancy this time but hang on in there there's only so long it can last and it'll be worth itfor the wee bundle of joy, this forum has been the best support I could have had through everything and we're all there for you! x

I'm 36 and this is my 3rd (10yr gap) and i feel crap and i thought it was down to age, but the midwife said a lot of women feel worse the more pregnancies they have as your body is exposed to more pregnancy hormones x x

I can completely sympathise with you Moggi.....
I am 41 but feel almost double that with this pregnancy! I loved being pregnant with my other 3 but this time I seem to be constantly suffering from all the worst symptoms you can get. I secretly think that as we have suffered to this degree we will have the best behaved babies :) well there has to be some Karma for all this pain!!

I'm 35, this is my 3rd pregnancy. There is a 7 year age gap between my youngest and this one. The pain for me has been horrible! I can't sleep, can't hardly move without being in horrendous amounts of pain. When the pain first started the doctor gave me a baby belt. That helped for about a week. But the bigger this baby gets, the harder time I have.

I have other complications, my other 2 were delivered by c-section, and after my last pregnancy I had 2 abdominal hernia repair surgerys. This LO has decided to cuddle up with all that scar tissue in my tummy. I'm at risk for some of those scars reopening as this pregnancy advances. So I would say I'm probably going to be on bed rest in the next month. (I'm due July 9th). I can't wait for this baby to get here, and I'm so excited to be pregnant, just wish the pain wasn't so horrid!!

I'm also sick of the doctor constantly reminding me that due to my age I'm experiencing a high risk pregnancy. OY, like we pregnant ladys don't have enough to worry about!

My other 3 children are 21, 17 and 2! I am having a 4th section and a lot of my pain is due to the scar tissue build up- my doctor says this is why they don't recommend more than 3 sections!
