I can't complain much. This is my 1st pregnancy and they only symptoms I've had have been sore boobs, fatigue, and heartburn. Yesterday I had a dizzy spell and thought I was going to faint. My major problem is being HOT all the time. I have central air at home and in the office but it doesn't help. I feel so gross when I'm hot that it makes me feel sick almost. Is anyone else experiencing this and what do you do to cope with it? I haven't slept a full night in days because I keep waking up sweating and not being able to cool off.

I don't really experience this at home or at work, because we have AC as well, but on really hot days when I'm outside (in the car, walking, or at a bbq type of thing), I feel very hot and sick. I make sure to lay down and drink a lot of water.

Yes! I always wake up hot, even before I was pregnant and during winter. Getting ready for work on these hot, humid mornings is horrible, even though we have a/c. The other morning I was more than 10 minutes late because I was so sweaty and absolutely had to sit and take a break from getting ready. I'm 32 weeks and having some hip pain and achiness so I'm hoping this is as bad as its going to get. Not to mention my feet and ankles swell up HUGE on hot, humid days. Hang in there! Try taking cold showers when you wake up in the middle of the night. When I get hot at work, I get some ice to crunch on and it usually does the trick.

With my first, I was just at 12 weeks around early/mid august. So it wasn't bad with him.

This time around though, i'm in my second tri during the summer, and it has been horrible. For the most part at home, I'm great and even right now because the air is on, I'm cold. But at night i can get hot but that's because of having OH laying next to me, it can get too hot for me. At work it's not too bad, only once the sun starts to set and shine through our front windows that it doesn't matter what you have have the air on, it gets warm.

The worst of it is driving to and from work. I have no ac in my car, and I have a 40 min commute. Not too bad in morning but if it's a hot day, I'm sweating by the time I get home. Last week I actually think I got a bit dehydrated because I started to feel pretty sick and very light headed.

I just try to make sure I'm drinking plenty of water. Normally do that when not pregnant, but it's a must now especially since I'm pregnant. Don't want to end up in hospital because of heat stroke or anything like that.

I was pregnant during summer last time and I always say that despite handling heat quite well regularly I WILT when pregnant in summer. Here we are again in the midst of heat again and I know that the next couple months won't be easy.

My advice is to dress lightly if you are getting too warm and wear light fabrics that breathe well. Drink lots of water with ice and if you're home try keeping a gel ice pack (wrapped in a cloth) on you to help keep you cool. Cold showers are great too!

Yes, it is miserable being pregnant during the summer! I also get hot (also nauseous and super exhausted) trying to get ready and take a lot of breaks. Being in the heat for too long makes me weak.

Ah it's horrible, I'm a hot sweaty mess lol. Combined with hayfever too makes it much worse. I had my daughter in January so wasn't too pregnant with her in the summer this time though I've noticed I've been suffering with the heat. I tend to sit in front of my fan to try to keep cool

I don't cope well either. I have a summer cold at the moment too, along with hayfever, so I look and feel terrible!

I am so thankful both of my children have been autumn/winter babies - as crap as this is, I couldn't imagine being in the latest stages of pregnancy or, worse, actually giving birth in this heat!

Yep its horrible.. I keep my mini battery operated fan with me constantly, baby wipes on the back of the neck, lots and lots of water and ice cubes, loose clothing. x

Yes! Oh my goodness I am sweltering 24/7 right now, even when it's raining.
Currently I live out of dresses, always have at least 2 bottles of water with me at all times and am forever running cold water over my hands and feet x

I'm not looking forward to it :( I'm already very big at 23 +weeks due to expecting two. I live in Spain and its very hot in the summer. The heat hasn't properly kicked off yet but I am apprehensive because I'm not very good in the heat at the best of times

It's awful and it's just the beginning of summer here. I work in home care so I spend a huge amount of time in my car. The ac is pumping all the time! Car is scorching. Hard to keep my water cold when it's in the car all day. I have my lunch on ice in the car and an insulated thermos to keep my water cold. Afraid to drink too much though as I have no washroom and don't have time to stop every hour for pee breaks. I am loving dresses but can't wear them to work so am stuck with capris. It is awful! Every day it is cool and over cast I am a happy camper. I used to love the hot humid summer heat but can't even tolerate sitting in the shade well on hot days.

Wow, thanks for all the responses. I actually had to leave a store today because it was too hot inside for me. DH thought I was crazy. I'm only 13 weeks and I am not looking forward to the rest of the summer already. I hope it cools down quickly.

Stay cool ladies!

Yea I feel hot all the time. The only good thing is I work in an office with air con which is nice. I wake up hot I go to sleep hot and get hot flushes all the time.

Opposite problem here, and I live in hot, humid Texas. OH says I keep the house too warm. I must be an anomaly.

I am currently sitting in my bedroom with the fan running and the AC on. Even though the AC cools the whole house it cools our bedroom to almost freezing.

I'm never one to complain about heat, I'm usually the one that's cold when others aren't, so this is awful for me! I don't know how I'm going to finish out the summer.

I'm also one of those people who are usually cold in the AC and bring a sweater everywhere I go to deal with it, but this year is much different. I actually love the AC! We spent a week in Florida in June and I had a really hard time with the sun. Now it's in the 90s where I live and it's too much. Thankfully, the AC keeps me comfortable, but tonight we ate dinner outside at a restaurant with my extended family and I felt very wilted despite having a cool drink in hand. I had to take a break inside and stop for ice cream on the way home to cool down.
