Yeah I an struggling. Can't sleep. Got reflux quite bad I'm on medication. Can't walk upstairs without needing a rest. Aching. Restless legs. Severe itchy foot.

But I don't want to be induced. I had three very very painful sweeps with DD and the pessaries and nothing worked.

I just think baby will come in his own time.

Me! I've already informed them I'm not being induced, if I happen to go to 42 weeks I want to be monitored to make sure bubs is fine, and then I'm carrying on. I don't think that'll happen, but I want him to come when he's ready, not for their convenience.
Feeling you though, I already feel stupidly uncomfortable but I'll happily put up with it as long as he's happy in there.

Me! With my first pregnancy I have been induced 3 times before anything happened...and the contractions were out of this world painful.

I'd rather not be induced as I would love my body to go naturally! But 4 days overdue I got a funny feeling induction is on its way at 12 days over due xx

I was induced last time as I was just so impatient, this time I don't want to be as I'm hoping to give birth anlt the birthing centre which I can't do if I'm induced!

Me I don't wanna be induced :( the pain was unbearable. Got my first sweep on thurs so hopin I won't go over too much xx

Me, I was induced last time and it was a horrible experience and I do not want to repeat it again, I am convinced he was just not ready to come out.

Also I have 3 children all ready that are at school, I'm due on the 27th Nov and the closer I can get to 16th December when they finish for Xmas the better, they have loads of things going on at school and I don't want to miss any of them. Not likely to go 19 days overdue and I'm sure that i'll be wishing the baby comes sooner the further along I get.

My induction is booked for Tuesday coming and I have a second attempted sweep today. My first sweep was Monday and my cervix was no where near ready so they couldnt do it.

What I want to know is- if the induction don't work or baby simply don't ever want to come, what happens then? (they reckon mine is big and might not descend down my pelvis you see)

I asked my midwife about why inductions are more painful and she said the ONLY reason they are is it's in your head. Apparently, if you go natural, your body builds up to and gets used to the pain levels, whereas if you get induced, you just get hit straightaway with strong contractions. They are no more painful, it just seems they are cos you aren't used to them.

So I'm not scared now of being induced cos I'll just tell myself this.....!

I don't want to be induced either. I am a few weeks away, but I outright refuse to have a sweep. If it got very overdue and baby was all cramped in there I would have the pessary, but I'll take each day as it comes until then I think.

im requesting not to be induced and will take monitoring instead if i go past 42wks , long pregnancies are common in my family and my last 2 were both 10 days + past the 40wks mark was induced with my last and it wasnt a bad experience but id rather not have the monitors and fuss and i want my waterbirth lol and homebirth if at all possible.

they have no way of knowing if your baby will come down till your in labour JuJuK ,theres good evidence to show that babies come when they are ready your body will expel that child lol i wasnt " ready " for induction they had tried 3 sweeps but his head wasnt pressing down on my cervix but when they gave me the gel i got upright as soon as i couldnt and just leaned forward or sat upright rather than leaning back to get him to turn and put his head down the right way and he popped out in under 8 hours.

me im refusing, they are not coming anywhere near me! got a scan today to check he is ok but i know he wont be here tomorrow! i recon he is going to be very late!

My midwife said the opposite...she said being induced defo hurts more as labour doesn't start naturally...anything that happens naturally is better....I had to be induced with first baby-she was a whole two weeks late...but if I have any choice in it I would not be induced this time round. I get what your midwife is trying to say but to say it is "in your head" is a bit weird..:flower:

I'll be declining induction in favour of monitoring if I reach 42 weeks. I declined induction last time and went into labour myself at 42weeks. My last labour ended up with a C-Section for fetal distress. Induction and a scarred uterus are both risk factors for a uterine rupture so its definately lower risk for me to not be induced. If baby is ok, then the pregnancy can go on as long as it needs to.

Me. I'm not being induced just being 'overdue'. If I got past 42 weeks and there are indications that the baby needs to come out, I'm even wondering if I'd choose a planned section rather than a syntocinon induction. I'm not sure though.

I will refuse to even discuss it unless I go past 42 weeks and at that stage will only agree to monitoring. If there is a cause for concern, I will request to see research which suggests that induction is in the best interests of me and my baby.
