After 2 mc and pathology reports showing nothing abnormal my doc advised me to take ld aspirin with a "might not do any good but won't do any harm" type of attitude.

I have decided not to start them until after my first AF as was told it will be heavy because the D&C didn't remove everything?! So decided I don't need anything to cause further bleeding!!

Anyone else on aspirin? or had any problems taking it? Or even better anyone had any success which they think they can relate to taking it?
Just curious as don't like taking any medication unless its necessary and my stomach can be dodgy at times!!

I was told the same thing so i've been taking it, so far no baby but I just got my first AF since last m/c so we'll see if it does any good. I'll be back to let you know if it does!

My gyn put me on it in November, I'd had a further two losses since then and was told by him last week there is no medical reason for my losses however, I've to keep taking the asprin.

I plan to continue taking this as there is so much plus sides on this drug.

sorry for you losses.

:hugs:

Oh yes bklove defo let me know if you have any success!!

Mrs JD you're right there are lots of positives with taking it so think I will start straight after my first AF - suppose the advantages do outweigh the risks!!
Heres hoping we all have our :bfp:that sticks soon.......xx

Where do you all get your baby aspirin from?

Do you buy it froma normal chemist?

Vik

yes Vik you just get it from the chemist although make sure its the low dose 75mg one. Its probably best to run it by your doc before taking it though just to be safe........

over the counter at Rite Aid which is like a general store in the medicine section.

Hi I've had 3 m/cs and last week went to the recurrent m/c clinic. I asked about aspirin and he said that I have to wait for tests to come back (8 wks) and then if it shows I have sticky blood I can take aspirin. This is the only reason to take it and its a very small chance that this is the problem, esp as my m/cs have all been before 8wks. Blood problems would normally give m/cs around 12 wks when the placenta takes over (not sure at which stage yours were). Anyway, he said not to take it unless it shows that that's the problem, and even if I was going to, he said it would have no effect unless I was pg so you don't need to take it until you get a +ve test.

There is so many mixed reviews about aspirin. I still plan to take it, about every other day anyway cause its not good for my tummy and it doesn't seem harmful at this point otherwise.

hi, ive been told to go to y docs and get referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic here in bristol, just wondered, what do they do for women there? x

PollyP - thanks for that.

Its really hard to know what to do for the best as you are told so many different things!! If they told you that at the Recurrent mc clinic though its probably right as they would be used to dealing with that stuff! Have you had pathology reports on you mc's? Both mine came back normal so I refused testing at this stage and thought I would give it one more try and hope for the best!!

Eight weeks for results? Do they just take blood tests? Why does eveything take so long......Really hope you get some answers from your tests.xx

Hi PollyP,

Sorry for your losses hun. After my 2nd loss in Nov my consultant told me to start it whilst the bloods were being checked, turned out I don't need it however, he's advised me to stay on it as I've just had my 4th MC last week.

Not sure if this helps you decide or not! You can buy it over the counter so as long as you're careful with it, I don't see the harm.

I had blood work done after the 2nd one and everything came back ok. I don't know what they do at that clinic, but please keep us posted, I would love to know if there is anything else I need to be doing. My doctor still has me under her care which i'm ok with because she has worked with multiple m/c patients who went on to have children. If it keeps happening and we past that 1 yr mark I think i'll seek more intensive/experienced help.
