Hi everyone, My concern over hair dye use and pregnancy is a new one.

I had a baby two months ago, a healthy baby boy. I have been dying my hair for the past five years, last time i dyed my hair was about a week or two before testing positive for this last prgnancy. I recently read that sying your hair can cause cancer and also.possibly cause childhood cancer to your child......this scared the CR** out of me.

My question to you all, have any of you with past hair dye use ever have ill side effects or did your baby/child go on to develope such a disease? The internet is a grand source of information that may not always be accurate but it did make me curious along with scaring me....

I dyed my hair before having my baby... Once being when I was four weeks but didn't know. I then didn't for eight months just in case (though my hairdresser was assuring me it was safe so long as we sat outside to disperse fumes).

Now I dye my hair again - recently bleached it in fact :)

I dyed my hair when pregnant with my DS every 8 weeks, he is perfectly fine and healthy 13 year old.

This time, I have dyed my hair once, about 11 weeks gone and my pregnancy has been perfect. I will be dying it again soon as the greys are starting to show again!

I've been told as long as you are in a big ventilated area whilst dying your hair, it isn't a problem

everything causes cancer these days. i personally didnt dye my hair during x

I did its fine it doesnt go in your blod, just dont use bleach, if you rly want to be safe use a 6-8wks semi preminent dye these have no amonia in them

I died my hair when pregnant and even the day after my waters broke while waiting for the midwife to come examine me haha
