I feel so stupid, I'm probably over thinking this.
DD has eczem and comes out in this red rash around her mouth after eating certain foods. I asked the Dr if it could be food allergy and she said they don't even test anymore but I could try cutting food out if her diet if I wanted.
She said a food dairy was always a good idea.
So I'm guessing I just log everything she eats. But what about the documenting of the eczema, rashes, constipation ? Photos, tick boxes?! Ihave no idea.
Any suggestions?

I kept one for a bit to keep track of what made my ibs flare up. I would suggest splitting the pages in half so a column for what's eaten and the other for any symptoms. I'd just write them down, rating them on a scale of 1-3 or 1-5 for severity if that makes sense.

I'm a health coach, for determining an allergen we usually suggest an elimination diet. For a week you eliminate all foods that might cause allergy like eggs, nuts, gluten, dairy and some fruits. After a week you introduce 1 type of those eliminated foods & you keep a diary for the reaction . If there is no reaction at all you introduce another food the next week. If there is a reaction you eliminate that food again the next week before introducing another food and so on.

You can also look into probiotics, like fermented food, kefir, plain organic natural yoghurt & so on, they help in overcoming allergies. There are supplements but check with her Dr or a health professional 1st before using supplements.
