Anyone experienced anything similar?

Ok so I'm planning on going to my gp tomorrow but I wanted to see if anyone can make sense of this?!

I was on cerazette for about 7 years before stopping in July 2013 to start ttc. We fell very quickly and I did not have any bleeding before getting my bfp on 18th sept. I had a normal pregnancy and my son was born 2nd June last year. After having him I had a bleed which lasted around 4-5 weeks. At my 6 week check I started the combined pill and had bleeds on my break.

I stopped the pill around middle of sept and got the copper coil fitted on 3rd oct. I had a period 4 weeks after this but have not had a period since then.

For the past couple of months I have had a tiny bit of spotting, especially after sex. This has gradually gotten worse and I have been spotting for the last 2 weeks continually. Not enough to use a tampon or pad but EVERY time I wipe there is blood streaked clear discharge.

I can feel the strings of the coil and it doesn't feel like it's moved.

I've reluctant to have sex because it's making me feel really dirty! (Silly I know!)

It's getting really frustrating and I am getting a bit worried. Not having periods worries me but surely if I am spotting it should lead to a period but never does.

Can anyone hazard a guess as to what could be going on? TIA xx

Hope you got the answers you need from the GP... I have the mirena, so a bit diff as there are hormones- but I don't have full periods. Just spotting (if that) and even though it was really consistent for months- I had NO period (i.e. spotting) at all for weeks- then suddenly got it the other day. I know it can affect us differently though. Even all my friends on the same IUD (Mirena) have had different experiences... most stopped their periods all together. While I still get spotting.

I couldn't get in the docs today so will hopefully be going tomorrow. Still spotting today.

It's really weird as I got the copper coil because I thought it wouldn't affect my periods and they would be normal. I'm thinking about having it taken out and going back onto cerazette as the spotting is getting so annoying! I will update tomorrow if I can get into the docs x

If you're spotting, it might be aggravation of the copper coil from sex?

No I still couldn't get in the doctors! It's a lot heavier now too. Enough to wear a pad. I'm going to give it until I have had the copper coil 6 months and then try to get in the doctors again. X

I don't know about whether the coil would be the same BUT I get this something similar with my contraception (implant). I'll go weeks without any bleeding and then go for weeks just spotting non-stop. Most days it's just pink discharge and sometimes i think it's stopped and when we have sex and that starts it again and can be a lot heavier. First time (2 years ago) it happened i was worried because i thought i was bleeding after sex but my doctor checked and he says everything's fine and that it is just a long, light period.

It can be really annoying but it doesn't stop me having sex. I'd still try to get to your doctor if i were you. Hope that helps- even if it's just knowing someone else does the same! xxx

Went to the gp this morning - she needs to refer me to a gynaecologist to investigate but she's just called and asked if I could be pregnant.....

I'm freaking out a little bit, I don't think I could be but I need to get a test this afternoon to make sure and call her back.

I'm doing that silly thing now where I question every symtom and convince myself that I am pregnant!
