Right well i want to complain to my NHS borough because since Maley has been born, I have seen a MW ONCE for the whole of 5 minutes and the HV ONCE when Maley was 5 weeks old!!

Now i am not that bothered but me and OH were talking last night and WHAT IF i was having problems......WHAT IF i was postnatally depressed and wanted to kill myself or my baby WHAT IF me and OH had split up and i was finding it hard to cope......i havent even had a phone call!!!

Do you think im right in complaining???? I dont want them on my backs but i think what if i wasnt ok? Someone else could be in my situation and not coping and dont even get a call.....

Anyone good at writing letters??

I think you do have the right to complain especially as Maley is your first born. I had more after care than that and Daisy is my 2nd.

Didn't you have the MW come to your house for 10 days after she was born?

I'm rubbish at writing complaint letters cos I babble too much but i am sure there will be someone on here that can help you! xxx

That's awful! Maybe you could write something like this:

Dear Sir/Madam

I am writing to you to bring to your attention the fact that I am very concerned about the lack of postnatal support provided by (Lambeth?) NHS Primary Care Trust. Since having my daughter XX months ago, I have only seen a midwife once - very briefly I might add, and was only contacted by a Health Visitor once when my daughter was 5 weeks old. I would also like to add that I have had absolutely no phone contact with any postnatal care services since my daughter was born.

I am lucky enough to have a very supportive partner and a good support network around me, but had this not been the case, it worries me to think what kind of position I would be in, given the fact that I am a first time mother. I am all too aware of the strains and stresses having a baby for the first time can bring and I am also aware that many new mums also suffer from postnatal depression. Luckily for me, this is not the case, but if this is the level of care that is offered in the borough, who knows how many new mothers are struggling on their own without adequate postnatal care and support.

I look forward to hearing a response from you very soon.

Yours sincerely,

RACHIEBABAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!!!

yeah the mw that was supposed to come 10 days after, came when she was nearly three weeks old!!!

I also had the health visitor visit twice and only once with carly , i thought that was the norm?

Ask for a copy of their policy first so you have some evidance to throw at them
