I am nearly 21 weeks pregnant and was told me that because the hormone PAPP-A was low in the bloods they took at 12 weeks, I'm to have an additional growth scan at 28 weeks because a low level of this hormone in the first trimester can lead to low birth weight, very early delivery by c-section etc. I know Low PAPP-A is also an indicator of Downs Syndrome but as I had a CVS and it came back fine, I know this isn't the case.

So - anyone had an early delivery because the baby wasn't growing properly in the third trimester or gone to term but delivered small baby? Thank you lovely ladies.

Hello! I had an early c section at 27 weeks because the baby was very small and not gaining weight. It was due to reduced blood flow though, not a hormone. He had the weight of a 23 weeker. Do you have any specific questions?
