I had a big bleed after DD, suffered PTSD and got no support for it :( the hospital handled it badly and I was poorly for quite a while.

This time I want things to go my way during labour but I'm going to have a bit of a fight with the consultant to get it (ie no constant monitoring strapped to the bed, no cannula inserted during labour in case of PPH and I'd like to labour in the birth pool).

Anyone else giving birth after a PPH? I know I'm three times as likely to go through it again this time and I am a little nervous about it :nope: but I do want to have as much of a normal labour as possible!

I didn't but a friend did although hers was about a week after giving birth. She had her second recently with no issues. Sorry,no other advice to give x

Hi i lost 2 litres of blood and im worried about the same happening..Had the worst labour ever..Im now shared care and have my consultant review in a few weeks..I dont know if i shud just ask for an elective section as i ended up with emcs last time...

See I did think about section but after doing some research I found you're just as likely to have PPH during one as you are having a vaginal birth after a PPH :/ depends what your consultant says though as you had an emcs previously..

I understand your wish to have a normal birth but a previous pph is no reason to keep u continuously monitored. I think a cannula is a must tho, if it were to happen again it would just delay the process of giving you the drugs and fluids which could make any potential blood loss bigger.
