I can't seem to remember to take my birth control pill  So I'm considering getting the arm implant, the thought of an IUD just creeps me out, I don't really want anything hiding down in there! :haha:
Has anyone had one? I was just wondering what it's like, side effects, if you liked it, etc...

im getting mine put in on the 30th november, the doctor said the side affects can be increased bleeding cycle which should settle down, my mum has it in and she stopped her periods im hoping it goes well for me lol xx

I got it in 3 years ago, and had to get it taken out after a year because of prolonged bleeding. I was drained!
But my sister had it in and had no problems what so ever! I think the general opinion for it is good.

Good luck x

no advice im afraid as i dont have one!

although pleanty of my friends have and havent had a bad word to say about them, all they're periods stopped to.

can you have one when BF'ing?

I'm getting one next week, its fine with BFing. I'll let you know how it is if you want!

ive had it in for 6 months and ive bled every day since. i went to the docs before and we talked about taking the pill aswell as the implant if the bleeding didnt stop. im going to go back and try that i think. hopefully that settles things as i dont want the implant taken out, got pregnant taking the pill last time lol. think i was sick mind u! i would go for it and see how u get on. its so different for everyone x

ive had 2 of them in the 1st was in for 3yrs and the 2nd was in for 2.i had no side effects from it at all but i know people that have just constantly bleed.it is just one of those things that u wont know how you will react till its in.but it is easily taken out and it stops working almost straight away.
if u keep forgetting to take ur pill this would be ideal for u

I had one put in a few months ago, slightly ireg bleeding for a month or two, but I think it's settled down now. However, serious PMD every single time, to the extent of being in floods of tears and thinking of getting it removed for that reason.

Hey i got the implant about a month after i had my daughter, first few days after getting it in i felt pretty crappy bit like morning sickness lol but only lasted a day or two...
After getting it i had my first period since having her which came and went, a few weeks after that i just started bleeding constantly not heavily but enough to annoy me, i went to the docs and he gave me medication to stop the bleeding and try and settle things down , but as it happened it stopped on its own and havent had a period since ... now 5 months down the line .. its great dont have to think aboput it but i just think it takes time for your body to adjust and settle down ... :)

Hiya.

I had mine fitted last week.

No problems at all! It is still a bit sore to touch, but I have a whopping bruise - I bruise VERY easily!

No irregular bleeding or anything like that. Moods have been the same - I think!

xxx

I havn't had one, but sister has and she was trying to convince me to have one too, apparently she has irregular periods/bleeds, sex drive gone down & feels a lot more tired than before.
But everyones different, good luck :flower:

my sisters been having it for 6 yrs now swears by it says its brill. shes had no side effects at all and found it so simple for her shes terrible and cant remember to take pills and didnt fancy the coil either. the only prob she ever had was whe they replaced it this time her arm got a bit sore and she had to have some mild antibiotic cream for a skin infection but she had admitted taking the bandage off straight away instead of after 24 hours so her own fault. xx

I had mine a few years back and spooted for the first few months then stopped until about 18 months after insertion when i bled every day for 6 months. i went to get it removed (2 yrs after getting it) and it had moved about 1cm from where it was inserted. took forever to remove due to my skin fibres having grown over it. got my mirena inserted last week and so far so good.
