Since about 5 weeks old, LO will go down for a long stretch at night (5-7 hrs, usually 6, during which I pump one time), eat, then go down for another 2-3 hrs. For 3 nights now, we're lucky if she'll sleep 2-3 hrs at first, then only sleeps 1 hr any other time! I think she hasn't had more than 8-9 hr sleep over 24 hrs in 3 days. I am exhausted!

She started daycare this week (she went Mon, Tues, and Wed) - we thought this might be throwing her off, although she slept fine Monday night. They feed her more at daycare than I express, so could she have gotten used to eating more and is trying to increase my supply? At 3am last night I was desperate for some sleep so we gave her a few oz ebm AFTER she had drained both boobs and she was still up 1.5 hr later screaming for food! Is it possible she's in some kind of 10-wk spurt? Or is daycare to blame for this drastic sleep regression? Thanks!

Otter had loads of trouble settling into daycare. It took a couple of weeks to start to adjust. He still doesn't nap well there, though.

Also, he had many many growth spurts. More than "normal." He went through one every 2-3 weeks for AGES. So, it is possible your LO has thrown an extra one in.

Is there a reason why they need to feed her more than you can express? Can you get them to feed her less? So then she will feed more for you later?

Also, it is common for BF babies to "reverse cycle" when they are away from mom. If they are away from mom during the day, they will often start to BF more often at night to help "reconnect" with mom. BF is about more than food, after all.

She could be doing any one of these things!
