I just wondered whether anybody had a c-section for a non-medical reasons, e.g due to their mental health (which i'd count as medical but ykwim)
I'm considering my options at the minute but I'm just so scared to go through childbirth again. My first experience of it was terrible. I got severe PND after the birth and suffered post-traumatic stress, a lot of time has passed (along with lots of different types of anti-depressants and hours of counselling and therapy) and the thought of going through labour again makes me go cold and shake and just want to be sick. Even slightly remembering the experience makes me burst into tears
I vowed i wouldn't get pregnant again, even though I always wanted a big family. Anyway two years on i still stuck to this but we've had a surprise and I'm pregnant again. i feel so lost and confused because i never thought I'd have to go through birth again, but the fact it's inevitable is just taking over my thoughts and I can't sleep at night
Sorry for the rant.. all I really wanted to know was how easy is it to access a c-section. i live in the UK and it's been in the news that all women have a right to choose a c-section if they want, but im not sure how easy it really is. I know it's painful and risky etc. but it seems like the only okay option for me at the minute. So I'm interested to know if any of you had a c-section for something not medically related? xx
