Anyone have a tubal ligation?

I'm 17 weeks with our 4th, and last, child. We both know for sure that we don't want anymore kids. I'm having a repeat C-section again and our plan has been to get my tubes tied during the surgery since it'll all be open anyway.

I'm not nervous about the procedure since my doctor said it only adds 2 or 3 minutes onto the C-section but now i'm reading these stories of people having adverse side effects from it and that they wish they never had it done.

My question is, if you've had a tubal ligation what has your experience afterwards been like? Thanks!!

I had my tubal in 2004 but I didn't have a c-section, but what I felt was that my periods are horrible now, there so painful, and I feel moodier more now too, before I had it done I had no cramps during mensis I just felt lazy. Also something else is now that I have them tied, we are really wanting another baby and will have to pay for it to be reversed (about $6000) I have 4 kids and my youngest is 10, my hubby is 34 and I'm 31, so were not that old yet lol been married 15 yrs too. Idk the only thing I could say is think about it, maybe you could get and different form of birth control, because if you want another baby later....

I thought I was done with having babys when I had my 4th I got my tubes tied due to my circumstances at the time ...,low income , unmarried , raising 4 kids on my own ,was scared if I dident get them tied I would end up with a 5th on the way that same year so I did it, and not more then a few months later I regretted having it done, wished I would have just used birth control, one year later I ended up getting married and my life turned for the better and I went to rio bravo reversals to get my tubes reversed because the rates are too high here. SO glad I had them reversed .
