I haven't had allergies in over 20 years, but am starting to have reactions to something. Since last week, I've been breaking out in hives, swelling up (hands, feet, lips) and have been to the hospital 3 times.

I've been put on a few different types of medication, as well as prescribed an epipen in case worse comes to worst.

I'd love to get answers to some of the following questions from anyone who has allergies:
What are you allergic to?
How did you find out what your allergy was to?
How severe is your allergy?

+ any other experiences/information/stories you'd like to share. This is a whole new realm for me, but I'm curious and want to learn as much about it as I can. :flower:

My allergy is fun!

What are you allergic to? Ortho Evra (birth control patch)
How did you find out what your allergy was to? the hard way :haha:
How severe is your allergy? I ended up in the ER because I broke out *everywhere* (including my eyelids). I never had problems with breathing or anything, but they had to start an IV and pump me full of meds to get it under control. Since then it has been the pill for me!

The worse part was having to tell everyone in the military what my allergy was. The look on my Drill Sergeants' faces is still burned into my memory. :coffee:

My half brother is deathly allergic to shellfish, so my parents carry an epipen everywhere. No other family member that we know of shares either of our allergies!

Hopefully you can figure out what is causing it! Can they run any tests or something like that?

I've been referred to an allergist, so they are supposed to give me a call in the near future to set up an appointment!
