Anyone have their water break in an awkward place?

So I am 38 weeks tomorrow and was walking around the mall. I was at the opposite end of the mall by myself in light grey yoga pants and I had this thought, what if my water broke right now. Walking all the way through the entire mall would be pretty embarrassing with obvious wet pants (Even if you everyone knew my water broke). Lucky for me it didn't happen but it made me think about all the women who may have their water break in situations like that.

Anyone have an interesting experience?

No interesting experiences here. My water broke with both of my labors (before it started). DS1 happened around 3:30 in the morning after getting up and going to the loo. His was just more a trickle though and TBH (at first) i wasn't sure if it was more pee or if it was my waters, but i didn't take long to figure it out. I hoped in the shower and still had some coming out. Then once i got out i used a heavy absorbancy pad and that did the trick for a bit. Never leaked through my shorts or anything.

With DS2 my water broke (a HUGE gush like cinema style!) but it was around 7:30 in the morning and it happened right as i rolled over in bed. ...that was super messy! The pad wasn't much use for a while.

The *majority* of women who experiences PROM have it happen while they are relaxed, so it typically happens in the night/waking up/sleeping, etc. Melatonin is one very contributing factor with labor so when you are sleeping or super relaxed thats when it tends to happen. With that said, it *CAN* happen in public...in which case it would probably be pretty emabrassing, for sure. But i dont think it's super common (plus only like 10% of waters break before hand anyways).
But if it does happen, i think ppl would understand bc a full term belly is pretty obvious. I think most would be more excited than anything. I also think how YOU handle yourself after (And if) it happens will influences other's behavior and attitude more than the fact that you have a wet spot on your crotch. If you hold yourself high, or joke about it or dont make a big deal, then chances are others wont really think much into it. But if you make a big deal, freak out in front of everyone, draw even more attention to yourself, then i guess it could get pretty emabrassing.

I carried a wrap skirt in my purse with all my pregnancies in case this happened. Never did, tho. I always have to have my waters broken while I am in labor.

^lucky! im so jealous! I hate the pain of contractions. They start off super painful, even at just 2CMs bc of not having the waters..im praying my waters wont go before labor this time, but i have a feeling thats just how my body gets the memo. So far im 2 for 2.

After going to the hospital and being told it would be a while yet, we booked into a hotel 5 minutes away, as we live quite far from the hospital and didn't want to go back and forth now labour was starting.

We paid £70 to be there an HOUR, because my waters broke within an hour of being in the hotel room! It was clearly not good either, as it was totally green and manky. So we took the 5 min journey back to the hospital and got admitted then, straight on monitor then had a drip to speed things up and get him out.

Oh well, was certainly worth the money...I wouldn't have fancied getting home (which take about an hour conicidently) to have to drive straight back for an hour with the stress of seeing the meconium!

When I was pregnant with #2 (at 37 weeks) my water broke while I was at work at a thoroughbred farm holding a horse for the farrier. It wasn't a dramatic gush, but my blacksmith thought it was hysterical seeing as he had caught 2 of his 3 children!

This made me laugh a bit at the mental picture
