hi girls im becky am 22 and am now on cycle#15, and was wondering if there are any girls out there like me who have been told by there doc no tests will be offered yet due to age?
im not really sure if its an nhs thing or just my doctor who may i mention is really insensitive and a bit of a prat lol.
He did send me for bloods last november which came back normal it was to check my hormone levels, but since that has just said we need to keep trying.
any advice would really be appreciated. lots of :dust: and :hugs: xxxx

Hey hun, im 24 and have been ttc since october 07, my doctor never mentioned my age being a problem with getting investigations!!!

I would maybe ask to speak to another doc, dont see why being 22 is any different?

good luck xxx

thanks thats what i thought just wasn't sure as everyone around me are currently pregnant and wouldnt have ever needed to visit a dr lol.

im 21 and been ttc nearly 3 years... its nt falling preg thats my problem tho its keeping it there.

Hi Becky.
I'm 24 now and have been trying for 2 and a half years. When we first went to the dr (when i was 23) they told us we were still young and had loads of time so to go away and keep trying. I wasn't happy with this and actually managed to bypass the dr and got a referal from the local sexual health clinic straight to the fertility clinic. It was a good job they did as it turned out I have PCOS and don't ovulate properly so now we are getting help.

When it comes to fertility the GP 's seem useless!!!

Good luck!

ive made an appointment for tomorrow its with the nurse so hopefully she will be more understanding and help to find out whats going on x

hey becky, i too am 22 (23 next month) and i went to my docs when i was 21 and told him that me and my partner had been ttc for a year with nothing happening and straight away he referred me to the fertility specialist. he never said anything about me being to young, i think the younger you are the more chance you have of concieving so to be young and not concieve within a year should suggest that theres something more serious going on. you definatly want to go and see another doctor because he's obviuosly not very good. i went to the doctors this time last year with my problem and since then ive had a blood test done, OH has had a SA done, ive had a HSG done, ive been on clomid 6 months, just had a lap done and when AF starts next cycle ill be starting another 4 months of clomid! so your age should have absolutely nothing to do with it. trust me, ya need to change docs!!! :dust:
