Anyone in USA know about bankruptcy?

OH and I have loads of medical bills piled on my name and we cannot possibly pay them off even in a lifetime (3 surgeries and multiple sicknesses. I'm also very anemic and get injections).
Is it possible to file bankruptcy on just my name without hurting OH's credit? My credit is in a shit-hole right now from them and we cannot possibly pay it off.
Any idea what to do?

I honestly don't know...I wish I could help! I only know that bankruptcy lasts 10 years before it goes off your record.
