As the title says anyone know much about paternity leave as oh's company are messing us about!!

Your OH willl get two weeks that have to be taken consecutively in the first 8 weeks after the birth of your child.
Some companies (such as ours) pay full pay but they are only obliged to pay the statutory paternity pay which is about £125 per week.

In short:
Paternity Pay is paid for one or two consecutive weeks at £128.73 or 90% of your average weekly earnings if this is less.

You must tell the employer by the 15th week before the baby is due.


My OH has decided to take paid holiday instead of paternity leave - he would receive way less than half of his weekly income if he took paternity leave. It might be worth asking if your OH can do this instead?
