Hi I have just been looking into the magic elf tradition and really wanna give it a go but the only site I can seem to get one from is in america and the shipping is $86

If anyone knows where I can get one from the uk or cheap shiping I would be greatful :flower:

I too have been looking for one, for aggges now, with no luck so will be stalking this thread as DS is expecting a Elf to be arriving on the 1st Dec :os

I too will now be stalking this thread, but i was thinking if i can't get one to either A) talk mil into knitting one or B) get a box, put in crackers and bottled water or some other food and drink for elf and say he's invisible, he can still leave evidence lying around showing he's there you just can't see him lol x

I'm assuming this is it:
https://www.elf-magic.com/about.htm
Sounds kinda cute ^^ Just knit one, they're extortionate!!

i think this is the poem they come with
“This Christmas will be special; I’m so happy to be here,
I’ve watched you from afar and in my heart you’ve grown dear.
I made my way here with you as my guide,
I am here to love you, to play and to hide!”

maybe you could print it out at home, find any elf toy and buy some snowflake confetti to "bring it to life?"

Hubby has said maybe look for elf type doll in toy shops or garden centres so gonna try this I think!

86 dollars for a freaking ELF?!? Is that to ship to the US or the UK?

If its less to the US...use www.shipito.com

They'll ship it to an American address and re-ship it to you for 8.50 USD

I wish it wasn't so much to ship from Canada or I would send you guys some!

i coudnt get a proper elf last year BUT i ordered a dwarf from snow white off ebay, added gold ribbon round his ankles and hat (to cover name), added a bell to his hat and away we went.

the kids thought it was great and the elf got upto allsorts of mischief!

he arrived dec 1st with kids advent calendars and a letter from santa, and his journal to make notes in. when they had gone to school "and i had gone shopping!" he put the xmas tree and decs up and got stuck upside in the tree branches (my camera was o the tripod on the coffee table with pics of him on it! - the kids know i dont have a tripod.)

he had a party with the kids soft toys - cds all over the living room floor, few plastic bowls n beakers and a few bits of twiglet left.

he hid in the freezer as he missed the cold of north pole

was found in OH car on a sat morning with mcdonalds wrappers on the seat

he "vanished for a few days" (as we couldnt think what to do) he wrote he had gone back to north pole.

he made paper snowflakes and hung from ceiling

brought chocolate elves as a treat (20p each morrisons)

took photos next to all of us asleep (inc me and OH in same photo).

whenever he did somethng he made a note in the journal and us and the kids could write him notes.

there's a link to his blog in my signiture.
