Hi Girls,

I'm pregnant with twins and have today decided to go for the I-Candy Peach pram with the Maxi-Cosi carseats. We can't decide whether to buy the carrycots too as we don't think we would use them very much unless they could double-up as moses baskets to save buying those as well. I'm not convinced but my DH thinks they would work, we'd just need to check a moses basket frame would fit. Any ideas/experiences??

contact the manufacturers first to check they are suitable for overnight use  we were gonna use out babystyle carrycot as a bed for Lana in april when we went on holiday, but when i checked with babystyle they said the carrycot was not suitable for overnight sleeping

The Peach carrycots are suitable for overnight use and are advertised as such. You just need to buy separate, breathable mattresses. (Got mine at John Lewis for £12.) I didn't put it on a Moses basket frame, though - just put it on the floor or on the pram frame. Worked just fine! The only bad thing was that my LO is very big so she outgrew the carrycot around 3 months (she also liked sleeping with her arms out to her sides), but that would've happened with a normal Moses basket as well, and I imagine that with twins that won't be an issue.

I used my apple carrycot as a moses/travel cot. Never tried it on a frame either. And as Sekhmet said, you just need to order a seperate mattress, I found one online which was made to fit.

:O really suzi76 :O oopsy jake slept in our babystyle oyster carrycot which is pretty much exactly same as icandys for first.... about 4 months of life would never of done it if had known x

and i didnt have the oyster i had a prestige so im pretty ure the carrycot isnt the same anyway

We used the peach carry cot as moses basket/travel cot for up to nearly 5 months- and James was a big boy. We used to leave it on 2 of our dinning room chairs- they where quite flat and it was really stable. We bought a separate mattress online

Just to put a practical spanner in the works - unless you're going to put the moses in the house for baby to sleep in and then take it in the car just in case you want it then it will end up indoors all of the time - in which case it would work out a v expensive moses. Just something to consider! The seperate carrycots are so bulky to put in the boot and if you have the car seats my guess is you'd just use them all of the time unless going out for a long walk (2hrs or more).

My icandy one folded almost flat  so wasn't really taking up much space.

Obviously two take up that bit more space though. However I wouldn't cart a newborn around in a carseat anyway for any more time than I had to.

We used the peach carrycot as a moses, and yes they fit on any moses basket stand. I bought a cheap stand from asda, then someone gave us a moses basket anyway, with a stand, and it fitted both of them. We got a breathable mattress from John Lewis.

We stopped using the carrycot at about 8 weeks as Belle tends to fling her arms out and hit the sides and wake herself up, so we started using the moses basket we had been given instead. (moses goes out at the sides more, rather than straight up and down like the carrycot iykwim!) Tonight she has gone into her cot bed for the first time.

TBH I thought we would've got more use out of the carrycot, as she is now also in the buggy part of the system aswell. She just wanted to see everything when out and about. A little part of me thinks we shouldn't have bought it, but on the other hand what would she have gone in otherwise? I can't stand seeing her in the car seat for very long and she gets really hot and sweaty in it. So I am glad we got it.
