Anyone? I bought some Maca last month and I've been taking 1500-2200 mg a day to bring on early ovulation since I have long cycles. I was hoping with that dosage everyday I would see a difference the first month, but here I am, CD17 and still no O! The soonest I've ever ovulated was CD19, so I guess I have one more day where it would technically be "sooner". Anyone have any luck with it?

I didn't use maca to shorten my cycle, I used Vitax (chasteberry).

Most herbs take a few months to start to make a difference, so maybe you'll start to notice a change after taking it consistently for 2 or 3 months.

Good luck!

I tried Vitex for one month, but it was the longest cycle i'd ever had! So I stopped taking it. Maybe I'll stop vitamin b and give it another go. Thinking about stopping everything except prenatals and giving myself a break!

I took ac for one month and it shortened my cycle from 42 days to 24 but I still didn't ovulate

I'm trying soy this month. Cd13 and nada! I'm so impatient :haha:

Ugh! Fingers crossed for both of us! Let me know if soy works for you so I can copy! :)

You have to give supplements more than 1 month to work. They are not a 'cure all in 30 days'. They work best over time. 6-12 months is the ideal time to see the maximum results of any supplement. Many people see results almost instantly, others it may take longer but that doesn't mean to give up because it's not happening as fast as you would like it. :)

Technically i'd stopped Vitex because I had my progesterone checked and it was completely normal, but I took it anyway without reading into it enough. That could have been why it delayed things for me. Vitamin b worked in one month for me, my luteal phase went from 7 to 13 days. I was hoping I would be as receptive to other things!

Did you take a B Complex or just B6 to lengthen you LP?

My LP was only 6 days last cycle. Ugh! But I think it's all messed up since I began taking maca and vitex last month.
I will probably wait another cycle before I decide to add another supplement into the mix but I'm still going back and forth between B6 and the B Complex. I think I'll just get the Complex so I don't miss any of the other important B vitamins. =)

Vitex also lengthens the LP, but I reckon it just takes longer. =)

I took a complex! I read somewhere that B-6 alone isn't very beneficial for some reason. So I grabbed the complex instead, and did the math between how much b-6 was in the pre-natal im taking and how much is in the new vitamin. I only took 65mg the first month (a few days a took a little more, but my hands got tingly and numb. nervous system overload!) and that was all it took! I went from 7-8 days for 3 months, made a doctor appointment about it, and by the time I had my progesterone tested and talked to the doctor it had lengthened to 12 and 13 days the last two months! My progesterone ended up being so good I stopped the Vitex because I didn't need any pituitary/progesterone help there. I was afraid of delaying O or messing up what I had going. I would really recommend the b-6! Now if I could only O sooner! I think im on CD 21 today with nothing. Boooo.

Hi littlebird, I've been taking Maca 4 months now & so is DH but from what I've read its not to make you ovulate early, only produce better & bigger eggs & improve sperm. Due to the life cycle of eggs & sperm it takes at least 3 months to work. Here's hoping now we're in the 4th month it will work!. I've just stopped vitex after 5 months, I think it made my mid cycle spotting worse & although I ovulated earlier & had a better LP the first couple of months, I think its actually delayed ovulation the last few. I hate taking too many tablets & feel much better now I've cut down x

Maca gave me bad acne, but I had dh take it. I took/take vitex. I started straight off bc. I heard soy brings on ovulation. Maybe that would work?

Thanks, guys! From what I've read Maca can "regulate" things, but one month didn't do much! My husband takes it, though, and he really likes it. He said it gives him energy for the day. So at least my $20 bottle didn't go to waste! I think I will try soy next month. These long cycles are getting ridiculous! I had April's period in May, and it looks like i'll be ovulating after that in June. Ugh!

Good luck for next cycle, your Maca should start to work in another couple, FX'd! Although I've come off the Vitex now I know there's a lot of ladies who take it to kick start their AF's when coming off the pill, I'm sure it's supposed to be really good for that x

Weirdly enough, I've never been on the pill! I've always been irregular. I'm intrigued by soy, though no one at the vitamin store knew anything about it!
