Hi, I'm expecting a baby in Dec and going by my last it'll be big.

I've bought a babystyle oyster pram and need to get a car seat. I'm aware there are several which clip to the frame but I don't know which to go for. I'd like one that clips to a base in car for ease of use and which will be roomy for a chunky long baby

Advice much appreciated please

I have the original oyster not the oyster 2 so please disregard my answer if you have the new one!

I have a maxi cosi pebble on mine which goes on the pram with car seat adapters. I have it on the isofix family fix base in the car. My big 10 month old still fits very comfortably and I've found it a good easy to use combination for both my boys.

The maxi cosi cabriofix and there is an oyster car seat that both fit with the adapters. When I bought mine I think they said a Britax car seat also fitted sorry I've no idea which one but I do think that didn't need the car seat adapters.

I have an oyster max 2 tandem and I have a maxi cosi, my 10lb 4oz baby girl fit in perfect with plenty of room to spare. She is now 5 months and there is still plenty of room left yet x

I also have the original Oyster and the Maxi Cosi Pebble. My LO is 11 months old and 19lbs and still fits!

Thanks very much ladies, it's the first one that I have as got it for a bargain on ebay. Maxi cosi pebble looking good then from what you've said. Shall have a look at getting one new and then getting second hand car seat base :)

Original oyster with maxi cosi pebble here. Clips on the frame easily with adaptors, and we had it on the maxi-cosi 2wayfix base in the car. We are actually just changing over tomorrow to the next stage car seat, the 2way pearl, which can erf until 4 years

DD is nearly 11.5 months. She was 10lb 2oz at birth, has always been very long, and is on 91st centile for height and weight (currently about 23lb), and she's been just fine in the pebble til now. She's literally just in the last few days grown enough for the top of her head to be level with the top of the seat when she first goes in - she sinks a little bit after a few minutes though - and her shoulders are a tiny bit cramped, but I think we've done pretty well out of the pebble!

I have the Oyster Max tandam and have the Babystyle Oyster car seats too. I got 2 sets of adaptors plus height adaptors for the too seat xx

I think it doesn't matter what car seat you buy, as long as you check its compatible (there's quite a few) and buy the correct adaptors xx

Thanks very much, that helps a lot as my last baby was 9lb 15 and on 98th centile for height and weight from birth to toddlerhood

We have a cybex aton3 for DD...we like the privacy with the fully adjustable hood.it also has a removable infant insert and is hight adjustable depending on what support/room the baby needs.
