My baby gets super wired from like 5pm to 10pm...he won't sleep, and he just wants to look around, constantly nurse and experiences fussiness.

Anyone else deal with this? I can't wait until he settles down easier in the early evening...I'd like him to go to sleep when my older kids do, around 6-7pm, but he's wide awake, fussy and nursing during this time...for hours...

Yes, and I've read this is common. Our daughter Madelyn is alert and peaceful in the morning, but in the evening she needs a lot of consoling. What we've found works for her, is we wrap her against our chest in the Boba wrap. This in combination with bouncing will put her to sleep and keep her content. Then we feed her at the first sign of hunger and let her drift back to sleep in the wrap.

My LO was like this as a newborn. Read up on witching hours. It passed after a couple of months! Congratulations!

My littlr one is the same but hers is 9pm until 1am atleast...
Different baby in day time its unreal

Sounds exactly like my baby! It should pass soon. I am looking forward to getting a bedtime established so I can have my evenings back!

Freya does the same! Very alert and nurses on and off for three hours from 6pm- 9pm. It's almost impossible to get anything done!

Ok we had this problem last night. He was crying and was very fussy on the breast, nappy was changed, I made sure he wasn't feeling too hot or cold, he was also fed so I had no idea what to do.

I held him against me and he didn't like but eventually went back on the boob and to sleep.. Phew!

I was't actually aware there were babies who weren't like this! Did it not happen with your older children?

My LO is the same. Every evening he has a really fussy hour where he gets overtired and won't switch off. Carrying him around helps him a lot although sometimes just stimulates him more. Lying down in a dark room with him on my chest used to help lots too :)

I do recall it with my son, but not with my daughter...my son had it so bad I blocked it out until I felt like I was re-living it with this baby...lol. My daughter never experienced evening fussiness and wakefulness.
