Amy was diagnosed with reflux a couple of weeks ago and prescribed Gavicon, if anything it seemed to have got worse,so have been back on the phone to the docs and they have now prescribed Enfamil AR formula, which picked up early this evening. She had her first bottle of it at bedtime, and didn't seem to do the whole back arching thing as much. However she usually takes 7oz bottles, and the absolute most I could get into her on the Enfamil was 3oz. I have put on the vari flow teats to ensure she can get as much as poss out of the bottle.

Has anyone else had their LO put onto Enfamil? If so, does it work? Do you find your LO takes a less amount? Sorry for so many questions. Many thanks in advance :flower:

Hi hun. Omar was on Aptamil AR. AR formula is more filling than normal one due to the thickening agent. This is why it's normal for ur LO to start taking less at 1st until she gets used to it.

We r using DR. Brown's bottles & at 6 wks when we started using AR formula we had to move to teat 3. Btw, we also noticed improvement when we switched to Dr. Browns bottles. xx

Thanks for the reply hun - I appreciate it!! She's been taking a bit more today, and I've noticed a bit of an improvement today as well! yay!! What does the Dr Browns bottles help with? xx

It helps with reflux as well as colic. The vent inside reduces the gases that goes into their mouth while feeding & for babies with reflux, they start to spit less while winding because of it.

thanks for that - i might just have to invest in some of them! xx

Well I personally chose Enfamil for my LO bc she was given it in hospital when she was born due to my milk not being present for 3 days. When we went home I put her Enfamil Prosobee as for some reason I don't prefer to give cow's milk so early to my babies (that's my personal choice). She took it well and never had a problem..until she quit formula around 4 months altogether that is...
