Yup, despite the fact that she is happy, clean, fed, healthy, goes out for walks, has a clean house to live in, has clean clothes, has me and hubby that dote over her :cloud9: we are seen as bad parents in my Dads opinion...

Why? Because Amy had a soother in her mouth in a picture i sent him...yup, what a knob!

Really? Wow! That's pathetic on your dad's part. Just ignore him.

Perhaps you should send your dad a copy of the guidelines that state having a dummy can help prevent SIDS - that should shut him up xx

Not that you should have to justify yourself of course!

Oh my gaaadddd I'm off to phone social services...
:dohh: this is when life needs an ignore button!

I'm a bad mum too then!

Bigbetty wow! Your daughter is getting so gorgeous and grown up. Love her hair!

You should ask him why it's bad. See if he actually has an explanation behind his opinion lol

Oh my days, we're bad parents too!

*goes and hangs head in shame*

Exactly what I was going to say, my midwife told us that the research shows how using one is another prevention measure against cot death. I am trying (and failing!) to persuade my baby to take one.
Ignorant man, tell him to mind his own business!

Ignore him, what a stupid thing to say!! Bad dad!!!

Bad parents here too..... Ooops!!

Your dad must be a terrible parent to raise his daughter to be so 'lazy' :-P This of course is said in jest! You arent lazy, suckling is a normal comfort to babies... simples! I dont like my daughter having hers all the time, but when she is upset and I cant settle her then of course she can have her dummy!! And also agree that he needs to be sent a copy of SIDS information...

I must be the worst mum in the world then

He doesn't sounds like a very caring nurturing father :nope: she's only 1 month old there is nothing wrong with her having a dummy. Don't let him get to you.

What a terrible thing to say!! I can your baby ticker and your baby is nearly 2 months old, there is nothing wrong with having a dummy at 2 months.

He would think im really bad then - my boy is going to be a year on the 27th and he still has his dummy!! :dohh:

My Dad is an opinionated old fart who likes to moan...a lot (he could win Mr Moan for the next 100 years) No one is allowed to have an opinion of their own...i can go on but i have had 30 years of him so i know to just go "uh mmm" and ignore but to have anyone think im a bad parent stings a bit

My smarta$$ response would be to take a picture of myself with a soother in my mouth, send it to him with the message, "Who's a bad parent now?"

What an ass.. agree with pp's show him a copy if SIDS guidelines.
Also bad parents in this camp then! If he's upset and wants his dummy then he can bloody well have it hahs
