Hello ladies

I'm hoping someone can help me. I think my 15 week old is suffering from silent reflux.

She is showing lots of symptoms the main ones being refusing her milk especially as the day goes on and sticking her fingers down her throat to make herself gag.

We are currently on aptamil 1 powder and have been given infant gaviscon from the drs. But it doesn't seem to help much.

She also has a lot of wind but I don't think he is colicky because she doesn't cry for hours at night etc.

So I'm wondering whether to put her on aptamil anti reflux powder and wondered how babies have been on it.

Oh has just been to boots and bought a tub of colic and constipation aptamil (doh!) but I'm ordering whether this would help anyway?

Advice please x

Hey there. I have no advice apart from that Aptamil anti-reflux cannot be used with gaviscon added, so it would be either or. Also I have heard from other parents that it is VERY thick, so use a single hole fast flow teat with it. From looking at the preparation instructions on the Aptamil website you definatley would have to make each feed fresh and couldnt premake it.

Hope it helps your lo. xxxx

Hi
Our LO has reflux. The aptamil anti reflux powder was brilliant for 3 days and she wolfed it down. But then she got horrendous constipation and was in loads of pain. We stuck at it for a further few days in case it was just her system getting used to it but it just got worse. We ditched it in the end. My LO also has horrendous wind. She's nearly 5 months and it's no better. She doesn't cry for hours either but possibly can't digest cows milk so is on prescription milk at the moment...

Ps if you did try it you'd need a fast flow teat as ^wss. It's incredibly thick and a faff to make!

Thanks for the replies ladies x

Floofymad - did you ever use the colc and constipation powder? What symptoms has your LO been having so I can compare. I've also wondered about digesting the milk being an issue so wondered how the prescription milk is going x

Hi!! My baby suffered with silent reflux from about 6 weeks old... It was horrid!! It was mainly her night feeds that we were having problems with, she too is on gaviscon n fortunately it has helped but we also keep her cot slightly elevated at the head end to keep the formula down, not sure if u've already tried this, if not might be worth a go?? Xx

Hi
Never tried that powder. We were on verge of trying comfort milk before doctor suggested removing the cows milk. Her main symptoms are vomiting, trapped wind (insane amounts!) stomach pain and fighting bottles etc
