Hi Ladies

After a bit of advice please? Daisy has been on Aptamil since about 2 weeks old and although seems to have always had trapped wind issues, over the last week it's been worse with an increase in vomiting too. She also seems to be straining when having a poo, although the actual contents are still the usual mustard looking stuff!

I don't know what to do and whether to try her on the Aptimal Easy Digest or to completely change formulas? I've tried using Infacol but it doesn't seem to have any effect.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Thanks x

We have been having the same problem with aptimil and trapped wind, Phoebe doesn't have vomiting but she s always straining to have a poo and only goes every 3-4 days, and when she does she explodes. Infacol helped a bit we also tried gripe water but this upset her stomach. We haven't changed milk yet as some days she seems fine we are confused with what to do and I am a bit nervous to change her milk in case another brand makes her worse.

My advice would be change milks! My Daisy was exactly the same till I changed her to cow and gate and she was like a completly different baby.
I went with Aptamil because of the "nearest thing to breast milk" but found it didnt do well with Daisy at all, and since then I have heard alot of stories from Mummies with the same problem with it xxx

UH found this thread I posted in another section a pol on whether I should change brands as we use aptamil stage 2, well have been for about four days thing is since we have Olivia has been a complete cow bag and not happy at all, it doesn't seem to satisfy her anymore than the stage 1, well not much more.

I also went for this one thinking it was closer to breastmilk and having bf for 3 weeks wanted something close to.

ANyway I decided to change looked at all the tins, lol sta on tesco's floor with them all out and read each one's nutritional values. Found aptmail stage 2 had the least amount of nutrition compared to all the others, but decided Heinz (formally farleys) looked the best she's had one feed on tnhis so we;ll see how she fairs.

I would change milks. I put Jason on aptamil when he was born. He was on it for about a month and He was windy, had very very runny bm's and he would always bring up most of his milk after. I put him on SMA Gold after that and he has been fine ever since.

We've decided to change milks and have gone for Heinz going to start it tonight and see what happens. Her trapped wind seems to be getting so much worse with aptimil.
